Hit The On Video Switch…

On Video are a four-piece indie garage rock band from East London. Their music is fast and furious with an explosion of energy. I had been delighted that they had signed up to play at the Stag and Dagger festival in Glasgow back in May. I even told the band I would round up my mates to see them and buy them a round of Irn Brus which they were quite rightly chuffed about. Then sadly the wheels came off 2020 and all bets were off.

“Past Tense” was one of those songs that made me sit up and take notice the very first time I heard it. In fact, it led me to buy my first vinyl single in decades. Fast with great guitar hooks and a massive chorus you just gotta jump around to it. On the flip side is “Adversary” a garage indie track with a fantastic “Woo Hoo” chorus. I want to see this live! I can imagine the moshing and the crowd just freaking out to this.

The video for “Adversary” is a bride and groom in battle with boxing gloves with the minster as the referee and the guests egging them on.  Not what you expect but just fits the lyrics perfectly.

On Videos EP Clap Trap had four tracks which were put out across 2019:  “Ghee”, “Past Tense”, “Adversary” and “Clap Trap”.  So far in 2020, they have had two more singles out “Bete Noire” and “Stuntman”. These are tough times but If you need a distraction and music to put a smile on your face then check out On Video.
