The Old Metal Bar-Steward Episode 14 Is Here And Kinda Short

The Old Metal Bar-Steward, Episode 14, is here and it’s kinda short. That’s right, my filthy animals, I’m back once again with your weekly dose of metal injections, but instead of the usual 30 minutes plus that you get of my ranting and ravings, this time out it’s kinda short. This is because no one has said anything racist, homophobic, or downright stupid since the last time we saw each other for the first time since I started doing this show. It seems that the idiots have decided to take the week off. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t have anything to share with you, dear listener, it just means I couldn’t pad the bastard out to the usual length. As always, The Old Metal Bar-Steward is brought to you, in part, by 25YL Media and The Ruminations Radio Network.

KK Downing can’t seem to get his head around people comparing his new band, KK’s Priest, to his old band, judas Priest, but don’t worry, I’m more than happy to point out the blatant comparisons. Then his old bandmate, The Metal God Rob Halford, has been explaining why he’s never sworn on any of their records. Thankfully, a slow news week picked up when Dee Snider dropped a lyric video for his song with Cannibal Corpse frontman George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher called “Time To Choose,” and it is so fucking heavy that if you dropped it, it would shatter the planet in half. Mr. Snider was also on ‘Celebrity Family Feuds’ recently, and he and his clan smashed it out of the park, so kudos for that, sir. Then there’s news that The Black Crowes, one of your Old Metal Bar-Steward’s favorite bands ever (especially live), are recording new material, which makes me very happy. Sadly, however, the new album will be without long-time drummer Steve Gorman, who Rich Robinson claims was nothing but a hugely negative influence on himself and his brother. Bodycount has announced that they’re working on a new album, and Corey Taylor is going to be a busy lad, because he has announced a summer solo tour before he jumps back on stage with those crazy bastards in Slipknot. Ronnie James Dio’s long-awaited autobiography now has a release date, and his wife, Wendy Dio, has been discussing how her husband popularised the “devil horns” we all throw towards the sky at every opportunity. In sadder news, Blink-182’s bass player, Mark Hoppus, has announced that he’s battling cancer—get well soon, brother. I close out the show with something that’s becoming quite the regular feature: that’s right, it’s time for Auction Corner.

As always, if you’re easily offended then The Old Metal Bar-Steward is probably not for you. You should know by now that the opinions expressed here are mine and mine alone and in no way reflect the opinions or thoughts of 25YL Media or The Ruminations Radio Network. But if you have a sense of humor, then the next 20 minutes should brighten up your day. I’ll be back in seven days’ time so until then, stay safe and stay metal, you filthy animals.
