Ready for your chance to own a part of alt-rock history? Today, Reverb, the broadest online marketplace committed to buying and selling new, used, and vintage musical instruments, announced it will launch an online store in partnership with platinum-selling Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan allowing fans, musicians, and collectors the chance to acquire items of music gear used throughout the musician’s remarkable career, including projects like Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Siamese Dream, and Gish.

Reverb announced The Official Billy Corgan Reverb Shop will go live Wednesday, September 29th, and will spotlight over 100 items of music gear used on the albums and tours from throughout the Smashing Pumpkins frontman’s career. Pieces for acquisition include guitars, synthesizers, amps, guitar pedals, and more from his albums and tours with The Smashing Pumpkins and Zwan.

While the Reverb shop won’t go live until next week, the auction store features imagery of the pieces for purchase. This will offer people a chance to browse the listed items they may want ahead of time. According to a Reverb spokesperson, the opening of these shops turns into a frantic dash.

“Over the years, Reverb has offered fans the opportunity to connect with their favorite artists by giving them a chance to own iconic pieces of gear used to create their favorite songs and albums,” said Reverb’s Lauren Tolliver.

Additional pieces which will be available to purchase include a pair of Kurzweil K2500 synthesizers that were employed to produce Adore and the Machina albums (Machina/The Machines of God and Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music). They likewise employed the synths on tour to support Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Adore, and the Machina albums. Other music items in the store will include:

  • Two gold Marshall JMP-1 preamps. “These vintage pieces are straight out of the ‘90s and were used in the studio and on tour to support Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness,” said Corgan.
  • Three 1980s ADA MP-1 preamps, two of which were used on The Smashing Pumpkins’ debut album Gish. “I would run it into a Marshall head. That was my main sound from ‘89 or ‘90 through ‘92,” Corgan said.
  • A Drawmer 1960 stereo compressor was the main compressor in Corgan’s home studio. “I used it on all my home demos, from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness to the Machina albums,” he said.
  • A Sequential Circuit Prophet 10 synthesizer that was featured on Adore and the Machina albums, as well as the recent CYR album, according to Corgan.
  • Ten guitars, including a 1976 sunburst Fender Stratocaster, a Yamaha SA2200 custom-made for Corgan, a Harmony Rocket used on the Oceania album and tour, and a Taylor 855 12-string used in both studio and live renditions for songs from the Machina albums.

This marks the second occasion Corgan has collaborated with Reverb to bring gear from his personal collection into the hands of fans through his official Reverb shop. Corgan is among an increasing company of artists that have united with Reverb, including Tom DeLonge, Dweezil Zappa, Sonic Youth, and others.

Reverb would like potential buyers to recognize Corgan defined and set all prices and not auctioneers. Sales on Reverb support the Reverb Gives program, which provides youth music programs all over the world with the instruments they require in creating music.

Tolliver, along with the rest of the team at Reverb, are eager to see in whose hands Corgan’s instruments will wind up. “With The Official Billy Corgan Reverb Shop, we’ll get to see several influential instruments passed down, and we’re excited to see and hear their next chapter.”
