On 3 Body Problem Season 1
In the 1960s during the Chinese Cultural Revolution, Ye Wenjie, a Chinese astrophysicist, is jailed for her scientific beliefs but is eventually transferred to a secret military base that is trying to make contact with extraterrestrials. After a series of incidents, she decides to communicate with aliens and give them the information they need to migrate to Earth.
In the present day, the aliens’ technology is beginning to interfere with our world and they eventually make themselves known to Earth. However, they will not arrive for 400 years. Present-day scientists and government officials begin trying to make plans for what seems like a hopeless, inevitable future that is centuries away.
