Picking up from the end of Episode 6, Catherine tells Stephen a different version of events where Jonathan forced himself into her room, threatened her and Nicolas with a knife, and then raped her for hours before leaving them behind. The next day, Jonathan was on the beach with Catherine and Nicolas, and he ended up saving Nicolas before drowning in the attempt. Catherine amidst she did nothing to help rescue Jonathan. After finishing her story, Catherine realizes Stephen put something in her tea and she passes out.
Stephen then leaves to go back to the hospital to kill Nicolas but stops right before he does it when Nicolas wakes up and calls for his mother. Stephen eventually believes Catherine’s story and tells Robert the whole series of events before leaving. Catherine wakes up and rushes to the hospital where she learns Robert knows and Nicolas is ok.
Stephen burns everything he has relating to Nancy, Jonathan, and Catherine. Catherine divorces Robert after Robert seems somewhat relieved Catherine was raped instead of involved in an affair. Eventually, Catherine and Nicolas are able to reconcile.
