On Silo S2E2, “Order”
This episode written by Fred Golan, directed by Michael Dinner. Silo is taken from a series of short stories by Hugh Howey.
In Episode 2, “Order,” everyone in the silo is reacting to Juliette’s decision not to clean and walk over the hill in very different ways. Bernard sees her enter another silo through the video feed on her suit and then immediately consults a book called The Order on what to do when someone does not clean.
He enlists the help of Judge Meadows to support him in a message to the silo that he believes will calm the increasingly agitated citizens. Bernard claims the silo’s suit technicians developed a new tape that helped keep Juliette alive for longer than usual, and she was a hero for volunteering for this experiment, helping lead the silo into the next step of their future.
In exchange, Meadows wants her own “good tape” so she can leave the silo.
The citizens of the Down Deep—mainly Juliette’s colleagues and friends in Mechanical—don’t buy what Bernard is selling and want more information about what happened to Juliette. They know Walker and Juliette switched the tape and believe that she might be alive.
Meanwhile, graffiti begins popping up all over the silo with the letters “JL”—Juliette lives.
