On Murderbot Season 1 Episode 6, “Command Feed”
Written by Chris Weitz & Paul Weitz and directed by Aurora Guerrero
Murderbot and Mensah are stranded after the beacon explosion at the end of Episode 5, but Murderbot deleted the repair manual for the hopper to make room for more episodes of Sanctuary Moon. Murderbot is also injured in the explosion, but Mensah is able to connect it to the hopper to fix it, and also use wiring from inside Murderbot’s spine to fix the hopper.
Leebeebee turns out not to be who she seems, and by the time Murderbot and Mensah return, she has the rest of the crew held hostage at gunpoint. Murderbot quickly shoots her in the head, disabling the threat. While the rest of the crew freaks out about this, Murderbot doesn’t understand why it isn’t more of a hero like on the television shows. It also seems to get a sense of enjoyment from murdering someone.
- Thoughts on Murderbot’s anxiety
- Leebeebee’s motivations
- How the humans react to death
