On Murderbot Season 1 Episode 7, “Complementary Species”
Written by Chris Weitz & Paul Weitz and directed by Roseanne Liang
Gurathin reveals in a flashback that he used to be a spy for the Corporate Rim. They drugged him and tried to get him to acquire information from Mensah. Her attitude and optimism convinced Gurathin to leave the Corporate Rim and come on their mission.
In the present, everyone is still skeptical about Murderbot after it killed Leebeebee. Gurathin and Pin-Lee want to get rid of it. Mensah, Arada and Ratthi want to keep it around and think if it wanted them dead they would be already.
Murderbot then yells to take cover just before one of the two headed monster centipedes surfaces. But apparently the monster does not want to kill them, but rather to mate with another one on the warm surface of the hopper.
After that business is over with, there is an egg sac hanging from the hopper. While the group discusses what to do with that, one of the advanced SecUnits attacks them without warning. Murderbot struggles with it but it is killed by the centipede monster after destroying some of the eggs.
After the battle, Gurathin collapses from his illness and the crew is left to decide to try and get him back to the medical bay which is potentially covered with advanced SecUnits.
