In the second half of Season 4 of The Bear, the restaurant staff continues to try and make improvements to keep it open, while also seeking to make improvements in themselves.

Syd’s father recovers from his heart attack, and she eventually decides she wants to stay with her family at The Bear instead of working with Adam Shapiro. At Tiff and Frank’s wedding, which all the extended Berzatto family attends, Richie and Frank begin to bond over taking care of Eva and confront both of their insecurities about how to handle the relationship.

Ebraheim and Albert begin plans to turn The Beef window into a franchise with more locations. Tina begins to look for solutions to become more efficient, and is eventually able to prepare her dishes in the time she wants after some encouragement from Luka. Marcus asks for more firepower to help with desserts, and Luka stages with him before they all learn that Marcus has been named one of Food and Wine’s best new chefs.

The season ends with Pete telling Sydney that Carmy wrote himself out of the partnership agreement of the restaurant because he plans to leave once the finances are above water. Syd confronts Carmy about this, and Carmy believes he is not a chef for the right reasons anymore and wants to find out 1) who he is when he is not a chef, and 2) what Sydney can do running things since she is doing it for the right reasons.

Richie also joins the discussion, and he and Carmy reconcile after working through their feelings about Mikey. Sydney agrees to the new agreement only if Richie and Natalie are on it as well.
