On Squid Game Season 3
Created, written, and produced by Hwang Dong-hyuk
Squid Game Season 3 begins right after the failed rebellion of the contestants at the end of Season 2. Seong Gi-hun returns to the games instead of being killed by The Front Man, who killed his friend Jang-bae at the end of last season.
Remaining players are forced into new games such as Hide and Seek, Jump Rope, and Sky Squid Game.
During Hide and Seek, Jun-hee goes into labor and delivers her baby, but they are protected by Hyun-ju, before she dies later in the game. Jun-hee sacrifices herself during Jump Rope because of her hurt ankle, and asks Gi-hun to take care of her new baby.
The VIPs, who are back betting on the games and also dressing up like guards and getting to play in the games, allow the baby to continue with Jun-hee’s number, 222.
In-ho offers Gi-hun the chance to kill the remaining players (In-ho received a similar offer when he played the game), save the baby, and keep all the money, but Gi-hun refuses.
In the final game, Sky Squid Game, the nine remaining players must push remaining players off three elevated platforms. Gi-hun and Myung-gi fight, with Myung-gi falling, although the game had not officially started yet. Since a death was still required, Gi-hun sacrifices himself, leaving the baby alive, declaring that they were always “humans, not horses.”
Six months later, In-ho leaves the baby and money for Jun-ho. He also visits Gi-hun’s daughter in Los Angeles to pay respects and give her his tracksuit and winnings. While in LA, In-ho sees an American recruiter playing ddakji with someone on the street.
