On Alien: Earth S1E5, “In Space, No One…”
Created by Noah Hawley, written by Noah Hawley, and directed by Noah Hawley
17 days before the USS Maginot crashes into Prodigy territory, a fire breaks out and several alien creatures escape containment. Security officer Morrow is awakened after two crew members are found with face-huggers attached to them.
While Morrow investigates, one of the leech aliens escapes the lab and lays its eggs inside a water bottle, which engineering apprentice Malachite drinks. He dies soon after, and the creatures also kill the two doctors working on him. The Ocellus is also able to escape containment after Chibuzo does not secure it. It eventually infects Schmuel, killing him as well.
Morrow discovers through recovered communication files that engineer Petrovich sabotaged the ship after Boy Kavalier promised to make him rich and immortal. Morrow confronts and kills Petrovich.
Meanwhile, after one of the crew members is placed in cryo-sleep to try and kill the alien, the xenomorph hatches from his body and escapes. The xenomorph kills Teng, and kills Captain Zaveri, but—going back to what we saw in Episode 1—Morrow is able to safely hide in an impact room while waiting for the ship to crash.
Back in the present, Morrow meets with Yutani and offers to capture all the specimens and kill Boy Kavalier if their arbitration with lawyers does not go as planned.
