On Task S1E6, “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a river.”

Created by Brad Ingelsby, written by Brad Ingelsby, and directed by Salli Richardson Whitfield

The episode opens with a shootout between Robbie, the FBI, and Dark Hearts members who have all converged at the cabin in the woods. Tom is attacked in the cabin by Perry, Kathleen is shot in the shoulder, Grasso, Lizzie, and Aleah get into a gunfight with Dark Hearts members, and Jayson and Robbie battle after Robbie throws the bag he was carrying into the river.

During the shootout, Robbie is stabbed and dies in Tom’s arms on the way to the hospital, Kathleen is incapacitated, Aleah kills several club members, Lizzie is hit and killed by the truck Jayson and Perry are driving, and Jayson and Perry manage to get away.

Because an officer has died, the FBI opens an investigation and tells Tom the task force has ended now that Sam is in child services. Tom tells Maeve about Robbie’s death, and then helps convince the district attorney that Maeve had nothing to do with any of the crimes. Tom then decides to take Sam home, and Emily and Sara question how he could make a decision like that.

Tom visits Kathleen and learns Grasso has some things in his past that could lead to him being the mole, but Kath advises Tom to drop it. Instead, Tom goes to Grasso’s house and tells him that Lizzie would still be alive if someone hadn’t changed the FBI’s initial drug bust plan. Grasso won’t admit he had anything to do with it, but Tom tells him, “I’m coming for you.”

Jayson and Perry, while in hiding, recover the bag Robbie threw in the river, but it’s a decoy full of magazines. It’s revealed Robbie’s plan all along was to work with Shelley to sell the drugs, and at the end of the episode, Shelley drops off a huge bag of cash for Maeve, Wyatt and Harper.
