On Pluribus S1E6, “HDP”
Created by Vince Gilligan, written by Vera Blasi, directed by Gandja Monteiro
Carol films what she discovers at the warehouse, which are countless shrink-wrapped human body parts. Instead of sending this information by tape, she drives to Las Vegas to talk to Mr. Diabaté in person.
He is living out all his wildest dreams at the Elvis Presley penthouse in the Westgate Hotel, and has already heard about the news that Others are consuming humans. He shows Carol a video from John Cena that explains Human-Derived Protein is needed from these bodies because of the Others’ imperative to not harm any living thing (animal or plant).
Mr. Diabaté also tells Carol that the other 12 unafflicted stay in touch over Zoom and are trying to help them with the problem that they will run out of food in 10 years. He has also learned that the Others have figured out how to inflict them, but it requires painfully withdrawing stem cells, and they need each person’s consent to do it. Carol calls them to clearly communicate that she does not consent.
In Paraguay, three days earlier, Manousos received Carol’s video and decided to venture away from his shelter for the first time. He sets out driving to try and find her.
