Hijack S2E7 and Paradise Season 2 Premiere (The TV Obsessive Podcast Episode 144)

On Hijack S2E7, “Contact”

Jess has been shot after the end of Episode 6 but is alive, and Sam convinces her to disconnect the rear carriage with the children on board, but the power is cut, and the GSG-9 come on board, kill Jess. Sam convinces Winter and the GSG that they can stop the people in charge if they continue with the hijack.

Off the train, Lang tells John Bailey Brown he will be freed if he cooperates, and Lang kills Linder for getting suspicious of him. Winter and MI6 get Sam’s laptop and see that he has been coerced into the hijacking. Gold and Mansell continue to search for Marsha, but she is able to make a phone call to Daniel that gives more proof that Sam is being coerced. In the Belmarsh prison, Atterton returns to his cell and is given a phone by a guard who is on his side.

On Paradise Season 2 Episodes 1-3: “Graceland”/“Mayday”/“Another Day in Paradise”

S2E1, “Graceland”

Prior to the apocalypse, Annie is an orphan who attends medical school but drops out to be a tour guide at Graceland. Annie and her co-worker Gayle hunker down after the event, but Gayle dies after 46 days due to injuries. After almost two years of hiding, Annie notices sunlight and goes outside. She sees a group she first thinks is threatening, but learns they want to shut down all nuclear reactors. They want to go to Colorado and kill “Alex,” Annie becomes close with Link, but refuses to go with them to Colorado. Months later, she is pregnant and sees a plane crash. When she tracks it down, she finds Xavier Collins unconscious

S2E2, “Mayday”

In 2004, Collins injures his knee while training to be a Secret Service agent. In the hospital, he meets Teri and helps her when she temporarily loses her sight after scoliosis surgery. In the present day, Collins crashes and is taken care of a group of refugee children who tell him they are in Arkansas. Collins is later attacked by a man who has been following the children and is stabbed, but Collins is able to kill him. Collins passes out and learns when he wakes up that the children stole everything he brought. Soon after, Annie discovers him, and after she learns he is from Colorado, she handcuffs Collins and demands they go to the bunker.

S2E3, “Another Day in Paradise”

Before the apocalypse, Redmond meets with the scientist predicting the end of the world and learns about the conditions that will result from a buildup of greenhouse gases. She begins a project to counteract this and hires Billy Pace to force a scientist to sell her his company, which has valuable information she needs. The scientist euthanizes his wife before Pace kills him, and he begs Pace not harm his protege, who turns out to be Link. In the bunker, Redmond wakes up and is questioned by President Baines about the power going to her project. She is placed under house arrest, but wants to know how “Alex” is doing. Agent Driscoll, still working with Redmond, kills President Baines and frames Agent Robinson. In the bunker prison, President Bradford’s son, Jeremy, asks Anders to help him blow the doors off the bunker.
