In the Before Times, Daniel and Helen are introduced to the world’s richest man, Per Stenson, who is working with Senator Thurman on some kind of secret project. They also bring out Charlotte and her doctor, who are with the group and apparently important to the project.
After signing a mountain of NDAs, the two fly with Stenson, Thurman, and Charlotte to Georgia, and then hop on helicopters to a “property” owned by Stenson that he bought from 42 individual farmers. When they get close to the location, Daniel notices a large drill digging a hole into the ground.
In Silo 18, Juliette prepares Lukas and Patrick for the trip to Silo 17, and Patrick promises to get Lukas there but then wants to go off on his own. Robert tells Juliette that the Vitamin D+ is already in the water, so they all need to stop drinking it immediately. As they approach the Silo, Patrick and Lukas are seemingly ambushed and Silo 18 loses contact with them. Camille tells Juliette that they died.
After learning about the tainted water, Bernard and the team tell Juliette she has a choice to make. She can do something to blow up a section of the silo (which might kill a thousand people) and undo what Camille has done with the water, or watch everyone in the silo slowly lose their memory, which could lead to thousands more dead.
This scenario has apparently happened before when Salvador Quinn was head of IT, as documented in the recently located Mission diary that Gloria Hildebrandt (former Flamekeeper) gives Juliette. Thinking Patrick and Lukas have been killed before they got to the other Silo, Juliette orders the bombing, but they call it off at the last second when Patrick checks in and reports they made it to Silo 17.
