On Silo S3E8, “Gray Goo”

In the Before Times, Daniel and Helen are shown the silo diggers up close and then taken to a farm to learn more about the project. Stenson and Thurman are digging 50 silos to help repopulate Earth when the inevitable end of the world comes. Stenson believes it will come from nanotechnology after Iran detonated a nano bomb in DC.
Daniel and Helen are asked to stay and be part of the project, appealing to Helen’s journalistic instincts and Daniel’s infrastructure background, but both decide to leave. Charlotte is also offered a role, and decides to stay.
In Silo 17, Lukas is recovering from a drone attack where he was shot. Patrick and Lukas meet Jimmy and the survivors and explain to them they need to find the pipe to learn how it was sealed. They find the body of Jimmy’s mother, who apparently welded herself inside the pipe room because there was so much poison and she didn’t want it to affect the silo.
In Silo 18, Robert Sims is thrown in jail for opposing Camille, Juliette and Shirley’s plan to cap their poison pipe is thwarted, Juliette is thrown in prison with Robert, and Billings and Hank arrest Mike for killing Orla Kent after getting information from Harwood and Knox’s father.
