On Silo S3E9, “Farewell”
Written by Jeffrey Wang and directed by Amber Templemore
In Silo 18, Bernard approaches Camille and the two go to the Algorithm. He proposes that Camille reverse the Vitamin D+ in the water, and in exchange, he will prevent a rebellion by accepting blame for past murders, and say that he sent Juliette out to clean illegally.
The Algorithm disagrees with this plan and recommends Bernard be sent out to clean in addition to continuing with the Vitamin. The Algorithm then abruptly ends the conversation, which leads Bernard to believe it might be a human talking to them, which means it can be defeated.
While Juliette is in prison, a rebellion starts to form about the drugs in the water. Knox and Juliette send away the group that is trying to get into water filtration, and Juliette tells them the Vitamin D+ drugs are a lie, at Camille’s request.
Bernard is sent outside without a suit, but is able to tell Juliette about the algorithm before he goes. He believes his death will cause a distraction so their team can carry out another plan. As Bernard dies, an explosion down in the mines rocks the silo.
In the Before Times, three years have passed, and Daniel and Helen are together and expecting a child. They travel to Georgia for the opening and tour of the silos. They stay with Anna and Charlotte the night before and learn more about the silo project.
When they arrive, Daniel is sent to Silo 1 for a tour and meeting with Senator Thurman, and Helen is sent to Silo 18. As Thurman, Per Stenson, Henry, and Anna prepare for a big event later that day, Daniel gets an ominous text from Charlotte, which compels him to go find Helen. Before they can meet, a large nuclear bomb goes off near Atlanta, forcing everyone into the silos.
