I don’t know about you, but I always like to have something on in the background. No matter what I’m doing, cooking, cleaning, working, or even just relaxing, I like to listen to something. While I’m a huge lover of music, sometimes I just want to clear my mind and only think of lighthearted, funny things that lift my mood during a busy day. This is where my love for the people I subscribe to on YouTube comes in, and luckily for me, it seems to be trendy for YouTube creators to express themselves through podcasts this year! There are thousands of podcasts out there, covering every topic you can think of, and I want to share with you my personal favourites as a woman who enjoys something positive and fun while feeling like she’s hanging out with her friends.
The Sip with Ryland Adams and Lizzie Gordon
Firstly, The Sip podcast started in 2020 with best friends Ryland and Lizzie discussing relationships, celebrity gossip and Ryland’s story about the ghost in his house.
I discovered Ryland through his husband Shane who is popular on the YouTube platform, and his personality is so lively and captivating it’s not hard to quickly become a fan. As we all know, 2020 was a hard year for so many people. I needed a distraction and since around the age of 12, YouTube has been that for me. I had probably been a subscriber to Shane since the very beginning and loved the insights into his relationship with Ryland and their friends at the time. So to spend an hour a week catching up with friends Ryland and Lizzie on The Sip each week really felt special and like something stable in my life at that time. I’ve been coming back week after week for six years now and each episode is better than the last. Now in 2026, we join in for stories from Ryland and his life with his twins, Shane and their animals. We catch up with Lizzie and stories from her marriage, maybe occasionally her rage with her husband, and her baby boys. We also hear from cameraman Chris, who has become such an important part of The Sip family, I couldn’t imagine it without Chris! The duo still discuss hot topics in the press along with sharing their own stories, but I just love their dynamic and humour that they share, especially when they crack up at inside jokes.

If you want to check out The Sip podcast, now is an exciting time to do so because in their latest episode “Buying EVERYTHING at HOMEGOODS for Halloween” Ryland talks about how the podcast’s final segment usually involves them going out and taste-testing the latest fast food items, but with a change in lifestyle and healthy eating habits they are going to experiment with doing shopping and haul-style videos at the end instead of eating. In my opinion, I am open to them exploring all ideas. I am not watching for the food reviews specifically although they are entertaining, I am here for the friends dynamic and the laughs along the way, so I am excited for whatever they do together. I will say that even though The Sip is available on audio platforms, with the shopping segment I would recommend watching the video podcasts on The Sip YouTube channel to see what they get up to.
Being a fan of Ryland and Lizzie over the past few years, I feel a connection to them from watching their lives grow and expand. We have been through Lizzie’s pregnancy journey with her two times now, heard stories of her sons growing and learned about parenthood, and for Ryland Adams listening to him and Shane’s surrogacy journey and how much their twins have grown has been educational and you can’t help but feel love for them both and feel so proud of them. Lizzie also speaks openly on the pod about her sobriety and I feel that it is an important message to share with the world. I love when creators use their platform to share a story that can help and inspire others.
