On Sugar S1E1, “Olivia” & S1E2, “These People, These Places”
L.A. Private Investigator (and classic noir film lover) John Sugar is hired by Jonathan Siegel, a powerful Hollywood director and grandfather of Olivia Siegel, to locate Olivia who has been missing for a couple of weeks. As Sugar begins his investigation, he runs into a number of obstacles, including: Olivia’s brother David and bodyguard Kenny who are following him and trying to record him; Olivia’s father Bernie who believes she is off on a bender somewhere, and that this behavior is common; Olivia’s step-mother Melanie, who is a recovering alcoholic, and is hiding secrets about her past; and a dead body found in the trunk of Olivia’s car.
