On Sugar S1E3, “Shibuya Crossing”
Sugar rescues Melanie from Stallings after posing as a parole officer, and then learns that Melanie helped Teresa get away from her abusive husband and was trying to do the same with Carmen towards Clifford. Olivia was apparently helping Melanie with these women, and we learn in a flashback that Olivia did kill Clifford, and Melanie was there to help, although what we see and what we hear from Melanie have some discrepancies.
Melanie and Bernie have a rendezvous even though she told Sugar she doesn’t see him anymore. Kenny and Davey get information on Sugar from former NSA agent Everett. Sugar attends his party, but it really just looks like a chance for Ruby to check in on a network of spies. John tells her about Shibuya Crossing, which he likes to visit in Japan, but Ruby dismisses most of what he says and most of what’s in his notebook.
After Sugar leaves, Ruby and Dr. Vickers connect and talk about how Sugar is onto Stallings, which prompts Ruby to delete all of Stallings’ history and prompts us as the audience to wonder what kind of connection Ruby and Stallings have.
